LA's Best: Before & After School
LA's BEST offers both before-school and after-school programs for students in grades TK-5.
BEFORE SCHOOL: Program runs from 6:30am until the first bell at 8:05am in the Aldama auditorium. Enter through the school's main entrance. To apply, please visit the LA's Best Web Site.
AFTER SCHOOL: Program begins after dismissal and ends at 6:00 pm. LA's Best currently serves approximately 40% of the school’s students and is always looking to grow. Each day includes the following general activity blocks (times are approximate):
| LAUSD-provided snack time | 25 minutes |
| Homework help | 50 minutes |
| Clubs | 60 minutes |
| Physical activity | 30 minutes |
Breaks and transitions are built in throughout the afternoon.
Clubs vary from month to month and typically include:
- Flag football
- Hip-hop dance team
- Gardening
- Science/Robotics
- Drama
- Volleyball
- Jewelry-making
- Basketball
- Drawing/Painting
- And many other enrichment and student-led activities
